At Fichu Films and Entertainment, Inc. ("Fichu" /fee'-shoo/ for short), we love to help people with great stories find great business practices that result in a creative product attractive to investors.  Go to "About Us" for current project information. 

We help writers/producers identify production roles and write effective business plans for the film (yes, films do have business plans!), budget initial seed capital to establish production entities and locate lawyers to develop securities and corporate documents required to attract passive and active investors.  We form successful multidisciplinary teams of professionals, determine how best to fund the production, and establish location relationships to tap into both public and private incentives available to independent film.  We help filmmakers target possible distribution outlets and generally hold everyone's hands as hard decisions are made in the right order to get product on screen.

Consulting for Active Investors...................

We also love to help investors who want to make active investments in film find ways to be productive active investors and influence the film in a positive way.  We do not provide investment or securities advice, just help active investors be active and find their highest and best use in a project.  The truth is that most films don't make money.  Some do, though, and those are most often the ones with solid talent, solid production value, a distribution plan, and a budget that is feasibly recoupable upon initial exploitation of rights. 

Productions or Co-Productions.....................

At Fichu, we're suckers for a great story and we have been known to spin a yarn or two ourselves.  We co-produce or serve as coordinating producers with other producers.  We also develop our own material, focusing on Made-for-TV Movies for the most part but we aren't married to that.  Our present development focus is in the holiday Made-for-TV genre.  If you have material we might want to produce or co-produce, please contact us for a submission release.  Don't send your material unless we tell you to!  We don't accept unsolicited manuscripts, screenplays or treatments.

Frequently asked question:   Do you invest in films?  We don't usually put cash money into films, per se, but we may help our consulting clients find prospective cash investors IF they have complied with securities laws, have legal counsel for securities representation, and if Fichu becomes a producer of the film with significant input on the script and other key production decisions.  And if we like their films and business approach.  We don't obligate ourselves to finding money for consulting clients -- we are not brokers and are not licensed as brokers.  Any money that we raise must be incidental to our producing duties.  How do we pay you for consulting services?  We can tailor a package of services to your needs, depending upon how far along you've gotten in your planning already.  Depending on the role you need, Fichu can become a co-producer and accept fees from the film itself or the production company itself can arrange for payment of fees on a need-basis.  Will you accept "back-end" or points participation instead of consulting fees?  If you have a darned good script with commercial potential and some fabu talent lined up, we might accept a mix of consulting/producing fees with points participation.  The reality is that most films don't make money so we don't usually take points either.  What's a "fichu"?  It's a shorter shawl / outer collar worn by ladies back in the day.  And even now.  Check it out.
